Guided Food Tour through Tokyo, Nagano and Yamanashi
Come travel to Japan with a chef and former restaurant owner for a personally guided tour through the culinary scenes of Tokyo, Nagano and Yamanashi. In this intimate group tour, discover the culinary side of Japan by visiting old temples for century old vegetarian cuisine, make sushi at the Tsukiji fish market, and learn to make soba noodles from scratch. You will also sample whiskey, visit a wasabi farm in the Japanese Alps, and harvest vegetables from a farmhouse garden. This tour will give guests the ultimate, hands on, one of a kind experience. You will see Tokyo as well as the countryside, a Japanese farmhouse, mountains, ride bullet trains and more. We would love to see you there!

Before You Go
- Japan is a country where walking is required. Bring comfortable shoes and expect to do a fair amount of walking including climbing up and down staircases.
- Pack light as we will be traveling from town to town on trains and buses. We recommend one good quality suitcase that you can lift/carry that has wheels and a backpack or a small bag.
- On some nights, you will be staying in a traditional Japanese Ryokan. While it is a quintessential experience of Japan, it does involve sleeping on tatami mats and using shared bathrooms, which is very different from sleeping on western style beds.
- While in Japan, we would like our guests to experience the local cuisines. On many occasions guests will have options, however on some occasion meals are prix fixe. The meals may contain fish, gluten, soy sauce or unfamiliar ingredients to travelers. Please keep an open mind and enjoy the experience. If you have severe food allergies or any concerns, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
This trip is based on double-occupancy and there will be additional charge for single-occupancy if available.
